What We Prepared for June 2013

Dear friends, here are the surprises we prepared for June 2013: the Romanian publication of Red Hawk’s Self-Observation, a book launch and weekend seminar with Red Hawk, and a women’s pilgrimage-retreat with Regina Sara Ryan.

Dear friends, here are the surprises we prepared for June 2013.

We worked diligently and with love to translate and publish in Romania a remarkable and very precious book: Self-Observation by Red Hawk.

We convinced Red Hawk to come to Romania for the book launch and to hold a weekend seminar on the practice of self-observation.

In addition, Regina Sara Ryan is returning to Romania and invites you once again to accompany her on the pilgrimage she makes every year in Romania, this time dedicated exclusively to women.

Below are all the details, carefully laid out, about Good Company events this summer. We invite you to savor together what it means to work toward our own development and toward the development of the world in which we live. The Good Company bees.

Development and Transformation. Red Hawk. Red Hawk (Robert Moore, Ph.D.) is the author of five poetry collections: Journey of the Medicine Man (August House, 1983; Walt Whitman Award finalist); The Art of Dying (Hohm Press, 1999); The Sioux Dog Dance (Cleveland State University; Patterson Poetry Prize runner-up); The Way of Power (Hohm Press, 1996); Wreckage With A Beating Heart (Hohm Press, 2005); and Raven’s Paradise (Bright Hill Press, 2010; winner of the Bright Hill Press National Poetry Book Award).

June 20, Bucharest. Development and Transformation. Book launch: Self-Observation. We are happy to invite you to the launch of a new Good Company book, Self-Observation, written by Red Hawk. Together with Red Hawk, Chandrika Taylor and Regina Sara Ryan will also participate in the launch. Red Hawk will speak about acquiring inner attention, answer our questions and sign dedications. In the Good Company library you can read the first four chapters of Self-Observation in both English and Romanian. We invite you to register for this event using the form below or to confirm your participation on Facebook.

June 21-23, Bucharest. Development and Transformation. Self-Observation: Awakening to Love. A weekend workshop with Red Hawk, Chandrika Taylor and Regina Sara Ryan. “Know thyself” is an ancient teaching about spiritual awakening; almost every religious or philosophical system points toward it. This practice through which you learn to “know yourself” is called self-observation, or self-awareness, or self-remembering. If we do not place this self-knowledge at the foundation of our lives, we will be driven by our habits and will react mechanically to the opinions and demands of others. It is no wonder that we often feel our lives are superficial, meaningless and deeply unsatisfying, and that our relationships fall apart far too easily.

June 17, Bucharest. Development and Transformation. How the “Feminine” Can Save the World. Reflections for both men and women on the power of gentleness and the need for self-acceptance. This evening’s discussion is about the “Feminine” in general, not about “women” or “a particular woman.” The Feminine we will speak about is the feminine principle in creation: a principle of knowledge, strength, joy, cultivation, gentleness, the body, art, forgiveness and the protection of Life in all its forms. The Feminine is what makes love possible. Without “her,” we all reject, ridicule and suppress our true nature through aggressive materialism, the need to succeed by sacrificing others, and dependence on immediate comfort.

June 27-30, Cheia. Development and Transformation. Pilgrimage-Retreat with Regina Sara Ryan. Five steps on the path of a woman’s lifelong pilgrimage. Regina Sara Ryan invites us once again to accompany her on the pilgrimage she makes every year in Romania. Together with a group of ten courageous women pilgrims, Regina proposes that we take a few simple steps that can transform our journey through life from an unconscious race into a voyage we can make from the heart and with intention. “The journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.” - Lao Tsu.

Development and Transformation. Self-Observation: Awakening Consciousness - An Owner’s Manual. We are happy to share with you the latest Good Company book project. This year we translated and published Self-Observation, a precious transformational book considered a unique contribution to the literature of Fourth Way teaching. We wanted to make this book accessible to the Romanian public out of love for people, teaching and truth. “Know thyself” is an ancient teaching about spiritual awakening. Self-observation is the way by which we come to this knowledge.
