Friday, November 2, 7:00-9:00 PM: public talk “Conscious Parenting.” Saturday and Sunday, November 3 and 4, 10:00 AM-5:00 PM: seminar “Responsible and Healthy Boundaries.”

We are offering several copies of Lee Lozowick’s book Conscious Parenting as gifts. Winners will be chosen by lottery from among the participants in Friday’s talk.

As parents, we do everything we can for our children. A child unconsciously assimilates the educational practices of parents or educators. Some help in later development, others less so. We need to know well the way we ourselves were educated, so that we do not pass on habits that may be harmful to our children.

With a wider perspective on education, we can bring a new approach into our relationship with our children, one with immediate and effective results. In the long term, this lays the foundation for an authentic relationship between parents and children, characterized by mutual respect, joy, love, clarity and appreciation.

Some important aspects to be discussed during the seminar: How were we educated and what do we pass on to our children? What model do we offer our child? Why do children need boundaries? When and how do we draw them? How do we educate children without attacking them physically, psychologically or emotionally? How can we protect our child’s innocence, self-esteem and intrinsic goodness? What happens to our other relationships when our child needs so much attention? How do we deal with our children’s emotions? What can we do when children quarrel with each other? How do we give attention to our child in this age of speed and lack of time? What is most important to teach our children? A new vision for the “first seven years at home.”

“Those interested in conscious child-rearing try to raise their children radically differently, in order to create a culture of beauty, joy, delight, love, gentleness, kindness and compassion, all of which lead to deep self-confidence, natural happiness and a manifest desire to enter life and live its experiences with interest and skill.” - Lee Lozowick

BRINDA CALLAHAN was born in the USA and currently lives in France. She has two daughters and a grandson. She leads seminars on conscious parenting and has been a parenting counselor for more than 30 years. After traveling in Asia and the South Pacific, she became actively involved in supporting natural birth, breastfeeding and homeschooling. When she became a mother herself, she truly discovered the responsibility parents have in educating children and began looking for alternatives to classical education.

After collaborating with several alternative schools, including Montessori and Steiner schools, she founded Sonoma County Homeschoolers together with several families, with the main aim of educating children at home and supporting those learning in the public education system. She has lived in this community for 25 years, where she teaches Aikido to children. She loves art and cooking, and in her teaching she brings creativity and a strong intention to help improve methods of educating children, so that they may become happy, healthy, confident and successful human beings.

During the event, books, CDs and DVDs from the site will be available for sale, including the recently launched book Conscious Parenting by Lee Lozowick.

Partners. Shared experiences: I liked it very much. Thank you. - M.

A wonderful course, full of warmth. As a mother of five children, I discovered many things that I had also applied instinctively, and I received confirmation that I had done well. Often the pediatric nurse would teach me things I could not apply. I did exactly something else. I wondered why. Now I learned that I was doing what maternal instinct was telling me and that the way I raised my children was good. I learned a great deal from the group exercise. I learned a lot about communication. I clarified certain issues that were on my heart and for which I could not find the right person to talk to. Now I feel much better. Thank you, Brinda. Thank you to the organizers. May God help me apply this and obtain improvements in my life, in my children’s lives and in the lives of those connected to me. - Ana

Very interesting and useful. Congratulations. - P.N.

For me the seminar was like an inner journey and also brought me elements from the parents’ perspective. These elements help me understand my own parents better. Thank you. - Ramona

Meeting Brinda was one of those moments you feel you will cherish and keep in your soul all your life. Not only does she have the answers you are looking for, but she gives you confidence that you can find those answers within yourself. She transmits joy without unrealistic expectations. I feel she opened a door for me and I want to continue walking the path that has become visible. - Adriana

A warm, welcoming atmosphere full of wisdom. After the first day of the course, my children felt that I was “different,” brighter and “nicer” with them. Brinda is an excellent trainer and helps you understand relationships between parents and children from a perspective of authenticity, love and understanding, and above all of trust in our capacity as parents and in our children’s capacity. - Brândușa
